Amanda Morrison, DMA

Amanda Morrison is on faculty at Slippery Rock University, a Vandoren Artist-Clinician, and a private studio instructor in the Pittsburgh area. She is a founding member of the Milano Duo clarinet ensemble and the PM Woodwind Project flute and clarinet duo. As the Event Director of Steel City Clarinet Day, Morrison created an event designed to bring the Southwestern Pennsylvania clarinet community together to share in a day of music making and music learning complete with guest artists, master classes, a community clarinet choir, and performances. Having a strong interest in extended techniques for clarinet, Morrison’s research focuses on the music of clarinetist/composer Eric Mandat, publishing numerous articles on his life and works in the Clarinet Journal, NACWPI Journal, and the Vandoren Wave. Dr. Morrison earned a BM degree from Duquesne University and MM and DM degrees from Florida State University with her principal teachers being Mark Nuccio, Dr. Deborah Bish, and Dr. Frank Kowalsky. Amanda loves traveling with her family, attending modern dance and movement classes, and indulging in vegan dark chocolate and hot tea.

Rosemary Engelstad, DMA, LMT

Dr. Rosemary Engelstad is currently the Associate Professor of Clarinet and Assistant Department Chairperson at IUP. She earned degrees in Psychology and Music from the University of Maryland-College Park, Middle Tennessee State University, and the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Dedicated to helping musicians stay pain and injury free, Engelstad integrates her background and work in psychology, as a MovNat Certified Trainer, Body Mapping Education Trainee, Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) and a student of Craniosacral Therapy into her teaching.  She lives in the country with her husband, 6 chickens, and 2 cats.
